Michael and his team took undefeated 3yo filly Rusty Dreams to town after two dominant wins leading into Saturday. The Universal Ruler filly recorded her third dominant win in the Pepsi Max Handicap (1400m) at Ascot on Saturday.
Starting outright fav, the 3yo had to work from the gate to find a spot in the breeze from barrier 6 with jockey Chris Parnham on board and kicked away in the straight to record a very impressive victory. The Ross Price trained Amber Glide chased hard but couldn't close the gap with the eventual winning margin 1.9L in what was the quickest of the three 1400m races on the day.
The victory was Rusty Dreams' first in town and takes her to 3 wins from as many starts and $140,890 in stake earnings and bonuses.
The Lane stable has recorded 5 wins from their last 11 starters since 23rd March 2023 and a total of 57 winners for the 22/23 season striking at over 16%.
